    Monisha Kapila is an executive coach, facilitator, and leadership expert with a proven track record of helping high-performing individuals and mission-driven organizations unlock their full potential. With over two decades of experience at the intersection of leadership, equity, and performance, Monisha brings a strategic yet personal approach to developing leaders.

    Prior to Monisha’s work with AEI, she founded the organization ProInspire, partnering with hundreds of institutions to advance inclusive leadership and organizational excellence. Her experience spans multiple sectors, having worked across for-profit and nonprofit organizations including Andersen, CARE, Accion, and Capital One where she’s led strategic restructuring including mergers, sunsets, and spinoffs. This diverse background informs her coaching, which is rooted in the principle of "leadership by purpose," blending strategic insight with a human-centered approach.

    Born and raised as a first-generation South Asian immigrant in Flint, Michigan, Monisha brings experience that resonates with leaders navigating cultural expectations, visibility, and influence. Her coaching style is both grounded and empowering, creating space for vulnerability, clarity, and growth.

    Monisha holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she received the Dean’s Award for her contributions to leadership. She also earned a Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University, where she currently serves as Adjunct Faculty.

    She serves on several national boards and is currently Vice Chair of the Board at the National Human Services Assembly. Monisha has written extensively in publications such as Stanford Social Innovation Review, Huffington Post, and the Next Billion. She has also been recognized as an American Express NGen Fellow and an HBS Leadership Fellow.
