The company was officially founded in 1995, the same year that Dan Goleman’s
landmark book Emotional Intelligence was published. Goleman’s book provided
the basis for examining what management guru Peter Drucker had decades
before recognized as a correlation between human development, effective
communications, and sustained organizational performance.
Working closely with clients, we have spent more than a decade developing
and refining a proprietary process that enables business leaders to draw
from both Goleman’s and Drucker’s writings, as well as many others’, in
order to effect practical and sustainable change in their organizations.
When we began our work, we were pioneers, but in 2001 our instincts and
efforts were overwhelmingly validated. Jim Collins published his Good
to Great study, which isolated emotional intelligent leadership (Level
5 Leaders) as the distinguishing trait of companies that dramatically
outperformed the market. We seamlessly incorporated Good to Great into
our work model.
What continues to set us apart from other coaching firms is our think-tank
capability – that is, our commitment to staying on top of and synthesizing
the cutting-edge research being done in multiple fields of discipline.
AEI has consulted and
coached in some
of the most prestigious firms in the world.
